Newspapers photographers are some of the most talented of visual artists who go to extraordinary lengths to capture history as it is being made.
Everything from wars and riots to world cups and red carpets is recorded through the eyes of these visual story tellers - and yet most of us rarely get an opportunity to see these extraordinary images other than printed on newspaper or on the screen of a mobile phone.
Assignments is a chance to see the best of these images - as chosen by The British Press Photographers Association - and to appreciate some of the great pictures taken by UK photojournalists.
Following shows in London and Stoke, Assignments 2019 is currently on show until Sun 19th April 2020 at: Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Lister Park, Bradford.
